Parrotlet Heaven emerged from a dream of wanting a cuddly, sweet parrotlet.  She was so adorable that it became an absolute necessity to have another one… and another … and another.  That’s how it goes.  After that, you have to have one of every color and one of every mutation.  AND the worst part of it all is that you have to keep every baby because it is “so special”. After a number of months you are in trouble.  Real trouble!  Then you have to put the breeder’s cap on.  Yikes!   It was never meant to happen, so therefore, a number of babies and pairs are available at  outrageous prices in the parrotlet world.

The parrotlets share our home or better, have taken over our home, along with numerous squirrels outside, moles, the armadillo family that lives in the "basement" underneath the shed, as well as little bunnies and  opossums that drop by for an occasional visit.
All of the flowers that are shown with parrotlets are grown in the gardens of Parrotlet Heaven.  Each time a flower or a bulb that is planted or purchased is always done with the thought of placing wondrous blooms and tantalizing fragrances on the desk of my husband, Carl.  That passion led to thousands of daffodils and spring bulbs being planted throughout the property, collections of English roses, lilies, clematis, not to mention the adventure of hybridizing day lilies creating a brand new flower that has not been seen before.  That is pretty much like the passion that fuels parrotlet breeders to create new mutations.  The work, the struggle, the joy, and some disappointments are common to all breeders.  It is that enchantment that fuels us to keep creating.
